The Structure Of Hydrocyclone

Hydrocyclones are divided into solid-liquid cyclones and liquid-liquid cyclones according to the dispersed phase. According to the structure, it can be divided into single cone cyclone, double-cone cyclone, and cylindrical cyclone. According to the concentration of dispersed phase, it can be divided into ordinary cyclone and cyclone for separating thick medium. According to the use, it can be divided into clarifying cyclone, thickening cyclone, solid particle concentration grading cyclone, solid particle sorting cyclone, particle washing cyclone, oil-water separation cyclone, and liquid degassing cyclone, etc.
The structure of the hydrocyclone
1. The feed pipe structure
The feed pipe structure of the cyclone includes the cross-sectional shape, the longitudinal cross-sectional shape, and the shape intersecting with the top column section of the cyclone. The cross-sectional shape is mostly a circular cross-sectional shape. However, in actual applications, a rectangular cross-sectional shape is used to reduce the turbulence and disturbance at the feed pipe. The connection between the feed pipe and the cyclone column section can be in various forms such as tangent line, involute line, concentric circle and multi-tube symmetry. In order to reduce the energy consumption of the feeding part and improve the processing capacity, many new feed pipe structures have emerged, such as contracted rectangular or circular cross-section tangent feed pipes, non-contracted circular cross-section tangent feed pipes, spiral feed pipes, involute feed pipes, feed pipes with adjustment wedges, and arc feed pipes.
2. The overflow pipe structure
The overflow pipe of the cyclone is generally a thin-walled straight circular tube. In order to reduce the influence of thin-walled straight tubes on the performance of hydrocyclones, some new forms have emerged, such as overflow pipes with annular toothed outer walls, thick-walled overflow pipes, gradually expanding overflow pipes, siphon overflow pipes, flow pipes with external circulation bypasses, and double-tube flow pipes.
3. The underflow pipe structure
The underflow pipe of the cyclone is generally a straight circular pipe, and the underflow product is directly discharged from the underflow pipe. In order to improve the performance of the hydrocyclone, some new underflow pipe structures and additional structures have been continuously emerging, such as the gradually expanding underflow pipe, the underflow pipe with a rubber valve, the underflow pipe with a check valve, the underflow pipe with an external water seal box, the underflow pipe with an external thickener, the underflow pipe with an external sand storage bin, and the underflow pipe with an external liquid storage chamber.
