Application of Hydrocyclone in Actual Production

The hydrocyclone is used as a separation device for the combined force field of centrifugal force and gravity. The hydrocyclones are divided into hydraulic classification cyclones for mines, heavy medium separation cyclones for coal, concentration classification cyclones for chemical power plants, etc. Cyclone is generally made of high-quality wear-resistant polyurethane elastomer, wear-resistant rubber, high-aluminum ceramics, etc. And cyclone is widely used in many fields because of the simple structure, small footprint, convenient installation and operation, and low operating cost.

1. Grinding and classification

In the process of grinding circuit, it is not easy to obtain grinding overflow products. But when the hydrocyclone was adopted, the problem was solved. Compared with the traditional spiral classifier, the hydrocyclone has a more significant effect in increasing the concentration of the slurry, reducing the size of the ore particles and reducing the load of the mill.

2. Solids recovery

Hydrocyclones also play a significant role in recovering solids. Hydrocyclones have been widely used in the recovery of mineral fine-grained crystals and metal materials.

3. Sorting particles

The hydrocyclone can separate the particles well according to the shape, size, and density of the solid particles. For example enrichment of tungsten and iron ore, removal of impurities of precious metals, water-mediated HC separation, etc.

4. Countercurrent lotion

Connecting cyclones in series to dilute and condense the overflow can obtain high-purity liquids or solids. This function is mainly used in the production of starch, citric acid and cobalt oxide.
