Influence of Different Diameter Underflow on The Effect of Cyclone

The separation effect produced by the cyclone is different under different slurry supply pressures for sand settling nozzles with different inner diameters.
The cyclone is used for the separation of solid matter in the suspension. The suspension at a certain pressure enters the cyclone, and a rotating vortex is generated in the separator, that is, the main vortex. Due to the effect of centrifugation, larger solid particles are attached to the inner wall of the separator, and then these solid particles are swirled by the main vortex to the end of the separator cone. In this way, the solid particles are separated and flow into the vacuum belt filter cloth from the bottom together with a small amount of liquid.
The more liquid components are contained in the underflow, the finer particles are contained. Therefore, a sand settling nozzle with the appropriate caliber is arranged at the bottom of the cyclone. When the suspension reaches the bottom of the drop, the direction of the flow field is changed, and a secondary vortex rotating upward and in the same direction is designed inside the main vortex, so that most of the liquid band overflows from the top of the separator along with the fine particles.
Generally, a small-angle cone or multi-cone structure cyclone can be used to obtain a higher underflow concentration and underflow production rate. The hydro cyclone mainly relies on centrifugal force to concentrate and classify the slurry. Adding a reverse spiral on the outer wall of the overflow pipe of the cyclone that is opposite to the short-circuit flow rotation direction can effectively solve the problem that the conventional cyclone accounts for 10%-20% of the short-circuit flow of the treatment liquid. It not only improves the separation efficiency, but also integrates the cone vortex, back vortex, and short-circuit vortex into one vortex, which saves energy.
