Overhaul Of Double Suction Pump

Double-suction centrifugal pump is a single-stage, double-suction horizontal split centrifugal pump, which is suitable for factories, cities, mines, power stations, farmland, water conservancy projects, and other fields. Double-suction centrifugal pumps are mainly used to transport clear water without solid particles or other liquids whose physical and chemical properties are similar to water.
Disintegration steps
1. Separate pump casing
A. Remove the coupling pin and separate the water pump from the motor.
B. Remove the bolts and pins on the joint surface of the pump, separate the pump cover from the lower pump body, and then remove the packing gland.
C. Disassemble the pipes connected to the system, and wrap the pipe joints with the cloth to prevent falling debris.
2. Disassembly of the rotor
A. Remove the coupling on the pump side and keep the connecting key properly.
B. Loosen the end caps of the bearing body on both sides and take off the bearing body. Then remove the bearing fastening nut, bearing, bearing end cover, and water retaining ring in sequence.
C. Remove the seal ring, packing gland, water seal ring, and packing sleeve, and check for wear or corrosion.
D. Loosen the bushing nuts on both sides, remove the bushing and inspect it for wear. Replace if necessary.
Assembly sequence
1. Rotor assembly
A. The impeller should be installed on the correct position of the shaft, otherwise, it will cause friction due to uneven axial clearance with the pump casing.
B. Install the bushing and tighten the bushing nut. In order to prevent water from leaking along the shaft, a sealing rubber ring should be used to fill the gap between the shaft sleeve and the nut.
C. Install the sealing ring, packing sleeve, water sealing ring, packing gland, and water retaining ring on the shaft.
D. Install the bearing end cover and bearing, tighten the bearing nut, then install the bearing body and tighten the bearing body and bearing end cover.
E. Install the coupling.
2. Install the rotor
A. Install the rotor assembly smoothly into the pump body.
B. After the sealing ring is in place, turn the rotor to observe whether there is friction on the sealing ring, and adjust the sealing ring until the turning of the rotor is brisk.
C. Fasten the pump cover, and fasten the bolts on the joint surface of the pump and the glands on both sides of the bearing body.
